16” x 20” Oil on Canvas. 2023.
Magic is what we create. It breathes in us. We are all a part of this universe, natural to it. When we end, it is to it we shall return. My best friend reminds me all the time to believe in magic and to choose to be alight with it.
Prints and original available for purchase. 9.5” x 12.5”. Watercolor. March 2019.
In a world that constantly tells us what we need to be, how we need to live, we often allow outside influences to decide for us what we are, how we need to live, who we need to be. In doing so we forget our nature and what we want to be. We neglect our needs as a person, a soul. Surrendering to your nature can be enlightening and bring joy to your everyday life. Being honest with what you want to be and who you choose to be is important for self-growth and understanding how you can positively live your life and exemplify to others how to be more than what they have settled for. Returning to nature is as vital for humans as breathing. Coming to a more natural state by doing what you are naturally drawn to and gifted for is important, as well, to establish a sense of purpose, without which people generally tend to suffer.
Prints and original available for purchase. Watercolor. May 2019.
“Where do you go when you need to get away?
Where do you hide to deal with the pain?
How do you recharge when others drain you dry?
What place knows your truth when to yourself,
You lie?”
12” x 16” oil painting on Gessoboard.
Happy Samhain!
A festive time to embrace differences and alight our lives with glowing smiles! A time of folklore, myths, and legends alike. When we celebrate the nonconventional and come together in times of struggle and need— winter’s approach.
A time when the term “community” means something.
Ancestors who guide us are closer, so be still.
Listen to the whistling wind through crunchy, fallen leaves. Light your pumpkins on All Hallow’s Eve.
Celebrate the time of summer’s end,
when autumn begins and the cold sweeps in.
SOLD
Oil on canvas. June 2021.
10”x14”; standard bars, side stapled.
A cluster of trees which felt like a fairy portal to me.
SOLD
You know when you are reading a story and you want so badly to be a part of it? I think many of us create ourselves as characters within these stories. Sometimes we replace the main character, sometimes we are the main character and sometimes we morph with them.
Often, though, we become them to some degree. When we aren't reading, though, perhaps that part of us in the story lies dormant, waiting to be picked up again. So crack open a book and wake up.
12” x 12” oil paining on board.
Oil on Canvas Panel. 5”x7”. SOLD
When only darkness surrounds us, we create light within our minds. Survival depends on it. We learn to breathe below such still, deep waters.
COVID 19 has impacted so many people; lives and loved ones transformed and lost. Connections tested and severed. It is hard to remember, but life still thrives in the dark. Potential still exists and may be realized.
